A bit closer to 300 pounds

So this is one of those posts where you start to believe that there may be, in fact, a 300 pound man trapped inside of me, working his way out by forcing decadent eating habits upon me.

So prepare to salivate!

This past week, I've eaten some rather decadent things.

On Thursday, I took my mom out to Deagan's in Lakewood...

...where we split some calamari with wasabi sauce...

...my mom got some chicken and waffles (with blackberries in the syrup)...

...and I got some vegetarian sliders (made with chick peas and roasted red peppers).

A delicious meal - I really recommend eating there!

Friday, I drove down to the Columbus Food Truck and Street Food Appreciation Night (free with RSVP)...

...at the Social Bar/Lounge on Park Street.

Although it's not unheard of for me to drive long distances for free grub, my main incentive was actually to meet other people associated with the Columbus food trucks, festivals and tourism (I actually did meet two great guys responsible for the Columbus Food Truck and Cart Fest).

Of course, this isn't to say that I didn't nibble a bit on the various snacks available, such as...

...chips...

...pizza...

...sandwiches...

...and vegetarian chili...

...but I did save plenty of room for dinner!

So, with my aunt and uncle, I went to Diaspora, where we all split...

...a shrimp taco with cheese...

...and some DELICIOUS Pizza Mania (tomato, white tuna, mozzarella cheese, mushroom and onion fried in seaweed wrap).

For the main entrees, my aunt and uncle split a combo box...

...and I got the Dolsot Bibim Bahp.

All were wonderful, by the way. I want to go back to try some of their crazy sushi rolls.

We didn't do anything for dessert...not that it mattered. I had eaten more than enough these past few days.

And it didn't end there. Saturday would be another fun eating day...

...but I'll write more about that tomorrow!

  1. absolutely love Deagan's! I love what they do with beer and well you can't go wrong with the chicken and waffles.
